Christmas artwork, pt 4

Here’s my new Christmas oil pastel landscape of Wall Street during the Holidays. I mean, Wall Street needs Christmas too! I rather like financial expert, Suze Orman and thought it was very interesting how she described a ‘recession’ on ‘Oprah’ recently:
“A recession is nothing more than a contraction. I’d like you to think about it like your breath… …Money is the same way. It has to expand and it has to contract… …It’s during these times that you then are brought into reality to look at your own life as to where did you expand when you should have been contracting.”
She said how we shouldn’t blame ‘the economy’ but our own spending habits. I guess no-one forced people to borrow more than they could pay back. This week has been one of those testing times for me. I couldn’t post a blog on Monday because there was no internet connection and just about everything technical seemed to give up, including my television set. I had to just listen to ‘The Young and the Restless’ last night! Everything was yelling at me to put a nice, new LCD widescreen on my credit card. But I know the Lord wants me to get out of the habit of going into debt. The repair man I called offered me one of those old-fashioned TV’s that had belonged to his daughter at one fifth of the price. So I can see ‘The Young and the Restless’ tonight and I’m going into Christmas with a TV that’s paid for!
