Believers for whatever reason are trying so hard to convince the world that we are just like them and sadly we do a great job at it. Reform will happen when we no longer fear carrying our cross. I think part of the problem is that some churches don't want to teach the WHOLE Bible. They pick and choose what they want to believe. However, God never gave us that option. We are to believe it by faith cover to cover regardless if whether or not it makes sense to our little human mind. We believe because God said it not because it makes sense to us. I think the second problem is that many people don't have revelation knowledge about the Bible. Many people wait for their priest or pastor to teach them when we were called to do our own studying. Ephesians tells us that there are mysteries in the Bible that the Holy Spirit will reveal to us. This means that we all could have this insight but if we aren't spending time with God to hear His voice He isn't going to be able to tell us these things. Therefore you have not because you ask not. If you don't ask God to reveal a deeper understanding of the scriptures, you aren't going to get a deeper understanding. Thirdly, the Bible says that in the end times more mysteries of the Bible would be revealed. He went on to become the first African-American to serve in the U.S. Senate and congress. And he was a Republican, of course… I am excited to make him the first figure in my new online gallery ‘Historic Heroes’. After the battle of Vicksburg he went on to pastor a church, found schools and at 48, gave “one of the most impressive and eloquent prayers that had ever been delivered in the Senate Chamber”. I believe I’m being led to produce and offer this series of motivational art, not only to inspire but to stand almost as visual corrections to the ‘revisionist history’ that is propagated today. An African-American media personality called R.D.
